I just finished reading an article in gear magazine entitled The search for the perfect woman.
Three great sidequotes from the article, and my own two cents:
“You can stand before a plain woman and two minutes before talking to her realize that she’s the most beautiful woman on God’s earth because of the way she thinks and moves. And you can be standing in front of the most gorgeous, drop-dead body and it’s like you’re suddenly driving a truck up a hill backwards.” – Pierce Brosnan
“Women. You can’t live with them and you can’t get them to dress up in a skimpy Nazi costume and beat you with a warm squash.” – Emo Philips
“Sometimes in my dreams there are women. When such dreams happen, immediately I remember, I am a monk. It is very important to analyze ‘What is the real benefit of sexual desire?’ A beautiful face or beautiful body, no matter how beautiful, essentially decompose into a skeleton. A couple in a sexual experience is happy for that moment. Then, very soon, trouble begins.” – H.H. the Dalai Lama
But oh those moments!!! – me
And as much as I respect the teachings of H.H., I do not feel that monks, or men of such noble ideals have any place discussing sex or sexuality. Especially when they have little or no practical experience to draw from. It’s one thing to live apart from society in a monastery and practice celibacy, and righteous ideals. It’s quite a different thing however, to live in the world, amongst your fellow human beings, and practice those same ideals.
Please, dear god, someone tell me this is a joke. [NSFW]
