Things for a halloween night…
The Exorcist – For me, probably the movie that sends the most chills up my spine. The voice alone can do it. I dare you to turn out the lights and surf through the site.
While you’re at it, why don’t you really scare the bejeezus out of yourself and listen to the theme from the Omen.
Oh, and go an see 13 ghosts
Lately, with all the flags flying on cars, I’ve begun to feel like I’m in a motorcade, or behind the pace car at indy.
Oh, and my DSL is finally back.
DSL provider is down. 3 days. No eta. Updates will be spotty at best.
American Red Cross – your donations at work
I don’t want to sound cynical, but I question the term “near-term financial needs” in their Family Gift Program. Is this going to be just short-term assistance till the affected families are stable?
The United Way – your donations at work
Grants? Does this mean the families have to apply to get this money?
I really, really don’t want to be anywhere near this benefit. As much as I like to see people helping out, this is gonna be one scary concert. Only one thing could make this event complete; hold it on Halloween.
Is the army guilty of deceptive practices? Did these people really not know what they were getting into? Did they think the army was like taking a shop class? I can see the mentality now. They thought it was gonna be an easy couple of years. No fighting, learn a trade, make some money, then get out. I bet some of them who want out will bring lawsuits. “I was lied to. They never told me I had to fight for my country!”
Maybe the armed forces should be classified as a brainwashing cult. [via MeFi]
Expect to be hearing alot of Madonna’s Ray of Light as ads for Microsoft’s Windows XP start popping up on TV.
Security was a little too tight at a recent Bob Dylan concert. Apparently Dylan was refused backstage access to his own show.
Generation gap at work?
Since the RIAA is now looking to hack your pc and treat you like a terrorist for downloading mp3s, I thought a rework of this old poster was in order.
