Is Iron Monkey going to be the successor to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?
What made CTHD unique was its uniqueness. If it’s about to become a trend, these kinds of movies will lose all that.

Ok, I missed this article in The Register.
The W3C says RAND licences are inevitable. Like Bruce Perens, I believe that’s a choice. What will be inevitable is a splintering of the web if corporations continue to seek to impose their proprietary wills upon it.
On a lighter note, Anthrax, the band, is going through tough times because of their name. An article at RollingStone.com goes into the negative publicity the band is getting due to their name. Jokingly they began a statement
“In light of current events, we are changing the name of the band to something more friendly, Basket Full of Puppies…”
and went on to say
“In the twenty years we’ve been known as Anthrax, we never thought the day would come that our name would actually mean what it really means. Before the tragedy of September 11th the only thing scary about Anthrax was our bad hair in the Eighties and the Fistful of Metal album cover [in which a spiked fist plunges through a man’s face]. Most people associated the name ‘Anthrax’ with the band, not the germ. Now in the wake of those events, our name symbolizes fear, paranoia and death. Suddenly our name is not so cool.”
I also remember hearing somewhere that guitarist Scott Ian said he had plenty of Cipro on hand.
“I will not die an ironic death.”
, he said.
Universities of Wisconsin and Idaho Edit Photos to Show Diversity
That’s diversity for ya!
The president seems to be making the rounds. He seems to be concerned more with publicity appearances than with matters at hand. No offence to the hispanic community, but the Hispanic Heritage Month Reception is more a place for missing Vice-President Cheney, than for our Commander-in-Chief. Seriously, is this war time, or is this just like, sort-of, maybe, a part-time thing that really doesn’t require his attention?
In a press conference today, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, with the Attorney General in tow, stated that an NBC employee who works on the 3rd floor at 30 Rockefeller Center (30 Rock) in NYC has tested positive for cutaneous (skin) form of anthrax. She is being treated, and is expected to recover. The suspicious envelope arrived 2 1/2 weeks ago (Sept. 25th).
The FBI is still treating this as a criminal investigation and is not linking these outbreaks to the terrorist attacks. So far, there is no evidence linking the Florida cases to the NY case.
We are told not to panic, but to remain cautious of unsolicited packages. Anthrax is not contagious from one person to another.
Gov’t sources say a deranged man attempted to gain access to the cockpit of flight 1238, which was en route from LAX to Chicago. The man, making his way to the cockpit, was subdued by the passengers. In the meantime f-16s were called in to escort the plane, and the 767 was safely landed in Chicago. Passengers are being questioned and the deranged passenger is in custody.
This is not being referred to as a terrorist attack.
Do we have enough psychos in the world yet, or do we need a couple more?
