Not widely circulating in the news is the story of lobsters, caviar, brandy and 80,000 bottles of mineral water, not to mention the other posh luxuries being laid out for the delegates at the second Earth Summit. All this finery while they discuss poverty, hunger, and sustainable development in the global arena.
Don’t they think the £35million would have been better spent on the poor rather than on delegates at a summit discussing the poor?
how else are you going to wash down your policy on taking care of the poor but with a good strong glass of brandy?
Come on, haven’t you ever heard of "Ivy League School"? Where the more affluent strata of Americans pay an enormous to be educated seperately from icky people with no money – hint, at wealth universities, this is called "leftwing". At earth summits, it’s called "legislation."
No; better to spend it on themselves talking about it. Spending money on the problem itself? Why, that would be a good idea! We’ll have none of that! More brandy!
